if god brings you to it

He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.
~ Psalm 18:33

I am reminded of the saying: "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it." One of my favorite books is an allegory called Hinds Feet on High Places. It is the story of a deer that is making her journey to the High Places. She learns lessons of trust, acceptance, and love, but those lessons come through sorrow and suffering, and ultimately, she finds these trials are transformed into something precious.

We learn that victory into the High Places can only be reached by learning to accept, day by day, the conditions and tests permitted by God and continually laying down our own will and accepting His. Every abandonment or surrender of our will for His is part of the process by which God is making us into who He wants us to be, so that in the end, we will cry out "The Lord God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine High Places." (Psalm 18:33 and Habakkuk 3:19).
