a cord of three stands

Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. Pity the man who has no one to help him up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Each week eight to ten ladies meet to study God’s Word. Each member openly shares her own perspective, and through prayer and the Holy Spirit, we gain a better understanding of the Word. All are welcomed regardless of age, health issue or vocation as teachers, homemakers, or military. We pray for our congregational members, past and present, family, and friends such as Gretchen, Dori, Lindsay, Michelle, and Cheryl. We comfortably share various issues such as parenting, health, relationships, and financial concerns.

The group’s instant embrace, nonjudgmental approach, and genuine love (spiritual warmth) to individuals and families nurtures them in faith. This helps us on our faith journey because we challenge each other and hold one another lovingly accountable. Each week we leave with the strength of our individual threads, knowing that we will meet again and garner the strength of Christ together, and also knowing we are always here for each other throughout the week. Through His infinite wisdom and guidance, we have read through four book studies and started our fifth.

If you’re not already in a group that gives you Christian friends, think about joining our group (or another one). We all need friends to help us up and keep us warm!

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…. ~ Hebrews 10:25.
