bedtime prayer
His master replied, "Well done good and faithful servant. You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness." ~ Mathew 25: 21
Dear Lord,
Here I am
At the end of another day
On my knees with
Mixed tears I begin to pray.
You reign in the heavens
And walked on the seas.
In all Creation
You touched me.
Sometimes I fear
The rhythm of my feet
Because the world shuns
Marching at a different beat.
I offer up my heart
To be transformed…renewed
A warring mind
Needs your grace ever true.
So, as I lay me
Down to sleep.
You alone my
Soul will keep.
And if I rise
Before the Sun.
I yearn to hear,
“Faithful Servant, well done.”
Amen
